Message to students
Principal Investigator
Welcome to Nagahara lab!
Nagahara Lab. is a laboratory that was just launched in the 4th year of Reiwa. I would like to invite student who are interested in mathematics education methods, educational technology, etc. and are willing to actively engage in research.
My background is pure mathematics (partial differential equations, especially reaction-diffusion equations). In addition, I worked at Tokyo Tech High School for 6 years and have been in contact with high school students as a mathematics teacher. I think it's even more fun if you are interested in mathematics.
Kentaro Nagahara
Tokyo Institute of Technology, Institute for Liberal Arts, Associate Professor (Lecturer)
Course: Teacher Education Course
affiliations (School, Department):Environment and Society, Social and Human Sciences
Research Project
Development and practice of gaming teaching materials
We are researching what kind of curriculum design is best to improve inquiry activities and what is needed to deepen cross-curricular learning
Collaboration with Tokyo Tech High School
With the Next-Generation Manufacturing Education Joint Research Group, we are conducting research with the aim of considering and making proposals regarding proactive, interactive, and deep learning (active learning) and curriculum management in manufacturing education.
Partial differential equations and Nonlinear Analysis
We analyze semilinear elliptic equations, such as those related to reaction-diffusion equations, using various tools such as eigenvalue problems and variational methods.
Administrative contact
The main faculty members in this laboratory are "Tokyo Institute of Technology, Institute for Liberal Arts". On the other hand, students enrolling from graduate school belong to "Tokyo Institute of Technology, School of Environment and Society, Department of Social and Human Sciences".
